"On 4 August 1964, United States President Lyndon B. Johnson erroneously claimed that North Vietnamese forces had twice attacked American destroyers in the Gulf of Tonkin.[1] Known today as the Gulf of Tonkin Incident, this event spawned the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution of 7 August 1964, ultimately leading to open war between North Vietnam and the United States." - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gulf_of_Tonkin

Almost 60,000 Americans and 2 million Vietnamese died in a war initiated by this false flag attack. What makes you think that the government wouldn't allow 3,000 Americans to be killed to fight a couple wars in which only 8,000 Americans would die? Heck, the government had plans to commit terrorist attacks in the US and blame it on the Cubans so they could invade Cuba; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Northwoods

I'm not saying I know what happened on 9/11, I don't. I'm merely positing that the idea that 9/11 being staged by our government is far fetched is merely ignorant and stupid. Why haven't you realized that they don't give a sh*t about you yet and only care about the corporate elite?

Because blissful ignorance is blissful.

Operation Northwoods is basically all the proof I need. I mean they PLANNED EXACTLY the same false-flag attack 50 years ago and then after 9/11 they invade Iraq 15 YEARS after he actually committed his war crimes.

Not only that but you can very clearly see how the Bush administration profits, Haliburton made 10s of billions and the Bin Laden family and the Bush family all trade gold and oil (the price of which skyrocketted during the war) and they both have ties to weapons contractors.

Basically the Bin Ladens and Bushs got paid for the weapons they used to blow it up and then Halliburton got paid to re-build.

Osama Bin Laden was actually trained by the C.I.A in the 80's when the U.S trained terrorists to fight the soviet communists and Al Quaeda (which means "the database" in arabic) was the name of the database that kept all the info on the people they trained.

"On 4 August 1964, United States President Lyndon B. Johnson erroneously claimed that North Vietnamese forces had twice attacked American destroyers in the Gulf of Tonkin.[1] Known today as the Gulf of Tonkin Incident, this event spawned the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution of 7 August 1964, ultimately leading to open war between North Vietnam and the United States." -

That statement isn't true. The destroyer USS Maddox was absolutely attacked on August 2nd, 1964 by 3 North Vietnamese P4 class Motor Torpedo Boats. The Maddox even took a hit from a 14.5x114mm round during the engagement in which 4 Navy F-8 Crusader fighters took part, one of those also being hit. This event was not "erroneous".

On August 4th the Maddox, now in company with the USS Turner Joy in bad weather and with crews probably more than a bit on edge after the events 2 days past reported being attacked again and engaged themselves in a 3 hour firefight with what was later determined to be false radar echoes and overactive imaginations. The decision to retaliate against North Vietnam was taken before it became clear this 2nd alleged attack probably never occurred.

What any of that has to do with 9/11 completely boggles the mind. There are no similarities at all, of any kind. To prove my point I give you Operation Northwoods, a plan that was rejected out of hand for obvious reasons even though it amounted to a few acts of petty vandalism, not the deaths of 3,000 people and the near destruction of our own economy. Northwoods proves exactly the opposite of what you Truther nutters try to believe.

Instead of spreading bullsh*t, innuendo and myth why don't you act like a real investigator and stick to the facts. If you have something factual - documents, sworn witness statements, phyiscal evidence, etc,.. and with that can provide us with the who/what/when/where/how then BRING IT. Otherwise STFU. This little parlor game you people play has gone on long enough.

Because there is no rational answer to the question, "Cui bono?" [Who benefits?]

There was no benefit from 9/11 for the government, for business, for anybody who the delirious conspiracy theorists believe wanted it.

The Gulf of Tonkin incident was a flimsy excuse for war, but Democrats wanted a war, I guess. But it was not a "false flag" attack. It might have been accidental friendly fire, or it could have been NV shore patrol boats, or it could have been smugglers or the VC. But whatever it was, it was far less of a good excuse for war than anything before or since.

As for the Northwoods plans, the military and intelligence communities do planning exercises all the time, without any intention of actually using those plans. Did you know we had a plan for attacking Canada, even after WW2? Does that mean we were planning to do so? Duh. Derp.

I have never thought government cared about me, and anybody who thinks a politician cares about people is a delusional nutcase. But they do care about getting re-elected and being popular.

So, who in your opinion would have benefitted from 9/11?

I believe your assertion the Gulf of Tonkin incident was staged is not correct. One ship was attacked, that much is not in dispute however it is reasonably explained that claims of a second attack were due to miscommunication and partial information available at the time. Situations are fluid and ever changing, especially at a time when communications were not as efficient as they are today.

As far as Northwoods is concerned, was it ever accepted and enacted? No. I'm sure if people took the time to look they would find plenty of such proposals and even more scenerios dreamed up in prep for attacks. Documents used to war game it in order to ensure the country is prepared.

I'm not saying that none of the false flag proposals were ever enacted but the sheer scope of what the 911 nutjobs propose is beyond the possible. To get sufficient people to buy into the plan, actually pull it off and then have the people involved actually keep it quiet even for this long is, in my mind, not statistically possible. The planes, any alleged missiles, controlled explosives pre-positioned in the towers....it's all as crazy as people saying someone placed a birth announcement in a Hawaii paper 50 years ago and faked a birth certificate just in case that baby grew up to be President.

Then again, I guess Americans need hobbies too.

Because there is no way the Bush administration could have pull it off.

As far as the Gulf of Tonkin goes, it was an accident and Johnson wanted to use it as an excuse for war with N Vietnam. You couldn't get away with that today with all the Tweets and such.

As I understand it there were nuclear warheads on board too. Did we really land on the moon is the question (kidding)

People want to believe that they are safe and secure so if they knew that the government was corrupt, the government being the very thing that would seem to be the most trustworthy and reliable agency if security ever existed. If one accepts that the government is corrupt then one must accept that they don't have control and security in their lives. Another thing that comes to mind is the Tusteegee (sp?) experiment where as late as the 1970s the government took a group of poor black men and told them they were doing a study and they had a disease called "bad blood", even though they were healthy, and actually injected them with syphilis to study the progression of the disease. Also, again as late as the 1970s the government would do forced sterilizations on poor and minority women. Doctors would tell them they have a health problem and they need to have surgery and sometimes the women wouldn't find out until years later that the doctor did a hysterectomy on them.

I don't know what's worse ;9-11 being a deliberate act by our government or the most monument case of government negligence in our history

The NY TRACON is the most heavily traveled and the most tightly controlled airspace in the US and two have 2-B-767's wandering around in it unchallenged is incredible

Furthermore anybody that lived in NYC after WWII began knew that they were living at the Primary Target for every bad guy in the world

Incredibly the US government didn't have a plan in place to protect this city from enemy attack

2012-06-06 03:58:02 UTC

look you are right, they don't give a **** about you or I but they didn't commit any terrorist attacks to initiate war against Cuba and we now know about the gulf of Tonkin incident. My point is we know about those now and there is no way they could have kept that secret for this long.

What happened in the Gulf of Tonkin pails in comparison to 911. There is TONs of evidence showing exactly what transpired on 911 and thousands of witnesses. There is no way the government could have done it as there is absolutely no proof whatsoever, none, nada. All the conspiracy theories are based on lies.

Your rant provides not a shred of evidence or even motive that the US Government was behind the events on 9/11. You appear to be out of touch with reality.

Congratulations on your ability to credulously buy into a propaganda film made by 3 teenagers looking to get famous. Your parents must be proud.

I don't think space allows me to go into detail as to why everything you wrote here is such complete nonsense. Others have already covered it well.

That same evil president and government could have just planted WDM in Iraq to to shut your ilk up what would it 5 10 man to pull it off?

because it's hard to imagine so many people keeping a secret.

It actually is far-fetched........the sophistication of this plot is beyond what we can comprehend.

but as hard as it is to believe..........the conspiracy theory is fully supported by the laws of science, physics, and engineering.

People are too closed-minded to look at the scientific evidence.
