How Do PowerUps Work?

When you enter stages to try and survive for 30 grueling minutes, you'll soon notice that if you destroy light sources they randomly drop items including Coins and Bags of Coins. Coins can also be found within Chests dropped by high-tier enemies and if you manage to successfully complete a stage, you'll be rewarded with a large sum of bonus coins.

Once you've finished a run and returned to the Vampire Survivors home screen, you can select the green "Power Up" button in the middle of the screen to use the coins you've earned to boost your stats so you're better prepared for upcoming runs.

PowerUps can be upgraded anywhere from one to five times depending on the PowerUp and every rank you purchase will further improve your selected attribute. Below you'll find a list of all the PowerUps currently available in Vampire Survivors along with their descriptions:

How to Determine the Ideal PowerUp Order

When selecting the optimal PowerUp Order, it's important to note that purchasing any PowerUp has two different effects on the pricing of all your subsequent purchases.

After purchasing a PowerUp rank, the cost of any following upgrades within the same category increase by a narrowing percentage as you purchase additional ranks. So, as listed in the Cost Chart above, maxing out the Might PowerUp will increase in price from 200, as a first-time purchase, to 440 to 720, and so on until the final tier comes in at a 1400 price point.

Additionally, purchasing a PowerUp rank increases the price of all the other PowerUps by 10%. For example, buying a single Might PowerUp would increase the price of an Armor PowerUp from 600 coins to 660 coins.

With these details in mind, the best and cheapest way to purchase all of the PowerUps in Vampire Survivors is to:

  1. Max out PowerUps with the highest initial costs first.
  2. When you inevitably reach PowerUps with the same initial cost, prioritize the PowerUps with the highest average cost. In other words, in the case of a tie between initial costs, put the PowerUps with more available ranks above the others on the list.
  3. Continue building your PowerUp order with this methodology until you've listed each PowerUp.

Ideal PowerUp Order

The following PowerUp order is the most cost-effective method of maxing out every PowerUp currently available in Vampire Survivors. To be clear, this doesn't mean the PowerUps at the top of the list are stronger or more effective than PowerUps at the bottom of the list. The PowerUp order listed below is simply the most economical way to max out every single PowerUp in the game on a single receipt.

Because some PowerUps have the same initial cost and the same average cost per rank, several PowerUps are technically tied and can be swapped based on your preference. In the case of a tie, we'll prioritize our recommended PowerUp choices and mark tied PowerUps with corresponding colors.

Completing this extensive PowerUp order will cost you over 210,000 coins but whether you've earned enough coins or you're just starting out with Vampire Survivors, you should never let the coins waste away in your pocket. Remember that you can always refund your purchases to adjust and improve your PowerUps if you're dissatisfied, so there's no risk involved.
