Playdough Recipe Made Easy: The Best No-Cook Recipe for Play Dough (2024)

If you’re up for an easy, quick playdough recipe, this one is perfect for you!

On the plus side, a no-cook recipe for playdough makes children’s participation easier and less risky.

Your playdough will be left consistent and stretchy, and when stored right it can last for about 6 months!

The only downside is that this playdough recipe requires to add food coloring after you’ve kneaded the playdough to consistency, so it can become a little messy.

But I’ve found a workaround…

… After my first attempt which made my fingers blue! (Hence, the blue fingers in the video!)

This playdough recipe is perfect for older toddlers and preschoolers since it’s low risk (no cooking, remember!) and lots of fun.

Preparing the Space for the Playdough Recipe

Before you begin, consider covering the surface you’ll be working on with a large paper sheet, and have some saran wrap at hand as well.

Pour the ingredients into measurement cups before involving the kids in the process

Finally, have some empty containers with their lids ready and clean before you begin making this playdough.

How to Store Your Playdough

When the playdough is ready, you can wrap it in saran wrap and store it in a closed container.

Any contact with air will dry the playdough, and, though you can soften it with oil, it won’t be the same.

Materials

Besides the ingredients, you’ll need this materials to get everything ready and settled!

Measuring cups for the ingredients.

A clean, flat surface to knead the playdough.

A spoon to mix ingredients.

Saran wrap for storage and a no-mess solution to kneading and mixing the food coloring.

Empty containers with lid for storage.
