Update: I’ve received many emails asking where I got the mug. I aim to please, so here ya go! It’s part of the MugTails Collection available on Amazon.com

Every so often I drink a cup of coffee because somewhere deep down inside I feel like I SHOULD like coffee and it’s a lot easier to find a mediocre coffee when you’re out than an even passable tea. The thing is… I don’t like coffee. I like tea. I love tea, in fact, and that’s just the way it is. Like many tea drinkers, I’ve taken to carrying a few ’emergency’ bags of a good portable brand of tea against the chance of finding myself in a place with no tea. It has happened. I found myself in a bed and breakfast in Ohio once where they had fifteen varieties of coffee but only Sleepytime herbal tea. And when I asked whether I could boil some water on their stovetop, they sheepishly admitted the stovetop didn’t work. They suggested I drink a coffee.

Ahem.

Happier thoughts.

You see that foamy goodness in the mug above? That’s my tea-loving version of an indulgence drink. It’s creamy, foamy, frothy, and rich like a cappuccino, but instead of the coffee base, I’m calling on my favourite Spiced Orange Chai Concentrate; homemade, of course! The mild orange taste of the chai concentrate pairs beautifully with the gentle nutmeg richness of eggnog. You can use any old eggnog you like to sip. I’ve used everything from organic eggnog to coconut vegan nog to run-of-the-mill grocery store eggnog with delicious results.

P.S. I like to froth my eggnog and milk mixture with one of these jobbies.

Don’t run away, coffee drinkers. We tea lovers are an accommodating lot; I’m including instructions for making this a true coffee latte because I love you all, too. Now, do ya think you could stock a few black tea bags at your house for when I pop on by? Mwah!

Sounds so good! Now, maybe a little sidenote on what method one is to use if they do not (sheepishly admits) possess a microwave? I’m assuming that it would work to just pour the frothed mixture into a pot and genty warm on the stovetop ~ any thoughts?
